From Santo Domingo:
by travel-bus (6 Euro)
The transport’s company “Caribe Tours” covers several times a day(7:00-8:30-10:00-13:30-14:30-16:00) the distance from the capital to Samanà in about 4.30 hours. Once arrived in Samanà it’s possible to find “guagua” and to join the final destination in 30 min.
by car
To rent a car may be one solution. In this case, take the “autopista (motorway) Duarte” until “San Francisco de Macoris”, about 4 hours driving, than direction “Nagua” and still the same road until reaching Samanà, than add 30 km more to arrive at the final destination. Better don’t drive by night!
by taxi (130-150 Euro)
Deciding to go by taxi, nothing easier than that, lots of them are waiting at the airport’s exit. Better fix the price before leaving.
by plane
A few km away from Samanà there is an airport (Arroyo Barril) where a small private-plane, 7 seats, can land. Deciding to rent it directly in Santo Domingo, after 30 min fly, it reaches Samanà.
From Punta Cana – La Romana
If you land in Punta Cana or La Romana, the best thing to do is to take water-way since arriving in Sabana de La Mar and from there with a “bus-boat” (2 departure a day) to reach Samanà. Attention, no car is allowed on board, so taxi (110-140 Euro)is the best solution.
by plane
In Punta Cana or La Romana you can rent as well a small private-plane and after 45 min., land in Samanà (Arroyo Barril), than by taxi or “guagua” only 30/45 min. more to reach Las Galeras.
From Puerto Plata
With taxi (100 Euro)or car about 3 hours driving on a street in good conditions.
At the airport of Puerto Plata it’s possible as well rent a small private-plane.
From El Catey-Samanà
Taxi (60-70 Euro) abaut 1 hour from Las Galeras
